About Justin

Background:

Justin attended Queen’s University for his legal education and received his Juris Doctor in 2013. Before graduating, Justin worked with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans in Ottawa through a Federal Government Internship with the Department of Justice.

Justin was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2014. Following his call to the Bar, Justin worked with a large regional law firm in Halifax (where he had also articled) as an associate in the litigation practice group. Justin returned to Sydney in 2017 and practiced law with a local full service firm before founding J. Morrison Law.

Professional Experience:

Justin’s practice consists primarily of civil litigation. As a litigator, Justin has represented individuals and corporations involved in actual and anticipated lawsuits including contract disputes and negligence claims. While working in Halifax, a large part of Justin’s practice was defending large financial institutions and insurance companies. Since coming to Sydney in 2017 Justin assists clients in negotiating with and taking action against insurance companies. He continues to practice general commercial litigation as well. Justin has appeared before Nova Scotia’s Small Claims Court, Provincial Court, Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, and the Utility and Review Board.
